This means it's easy to sometimes slip into a consumer mentality where it's other people's responsibility to make my worship experience meaningful. This sermon presents a mindset that can transform the worship experience for everyone.

Matthew's account of Jesus life begins with an empty manger. Before he introduces the Messiah, he tells us Jesus origin story. Within this big picture he mentions four women: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba. These women set the stage for Jesus by reminding us that God responds to faith with mercy.
